Requirements:
• Entry Fee $50 per organization
• Payment due upon registration
• Registration will close Monday, November 30 th at 5:00 p.m.
• No refunds will be issued. If you choose not to participate, your entry fee will be considered a donation. The only exception is if the organizers cancel the parade.
• A copy of the driver’s license and insurance card of driver for any motorized vehicle is required on entry form.
• Children under the age of 14 CANNOT be dropped at the parade site without an adult. For example, scout groups, sports groups, dance groups, etc. An adult MUST walk the child to their float.
• Absolutely NOTHING, to include candy, may be distributed/thrown from a vehicle, float, horse, etc. VIOLATORS ARE SUBJECT TO A FINE AND WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN FUTURE PARADES. However, participants may walk beside their float and hand out candy.
• The length of floats cannot exceed 60 feet.
• The height of floats cannot exceed 16 feet.
• Parade line-up begins at 4:00 pm. All parade entries will enter the Lamar County Courthouse parking lot located at 119 N. Main Street and follow the directions of parade officials.
• Vehicles not participating in the parade will not be allowed in the staging area for any reason.
• Floats should enter the staging area ONLY when they are completely decorated and ready to line up.
• Please use the vacant parking lot east of the courthouse for completing the float and then enter the parade staging area.
• Each organization is assigned a number upon registration. When you arrive at the staging area, you will be given a large card with your number that must be taped to the inside of the window shield on the passenger side to validate registration and remain in place during the duration of the parade.
• There will be ONLY ONE Santa Claus allowed in the parade. Parade organizers will sponsor the float with Santa Claus. NO Santa’s on any other parade entries will be allowed.
• At the end of the parade route, all floats must be dismantled in a parking lot, not along the street.
• Participants will be judged on 1. Use of Christmas Lights (1-20 points); 2. Christmas Parade Theme and use of Music (1-15 points); 3. Appearance (1-10 Points); 4. Originality (1-5 points). Extra points will be given by Parade Judges for emphasis on use of Christmas Lights as part of your decorations.
• The parade entry winners will be announced in the Paris News, Downtown Paris Texas Facebook page and other social media outlets.
In the event of rain, the parade will be postponed to the next available date. The postponed plan will be announced via social media outlets, radio and an email to participants.
